Early vote count hits 33%, surpasses 2020 record with one day to go

A third of Monongalia County’s registered voters have cast ballots through nine days of early voting.

Monongalia County Clerk Carye Blaney said the polls closed Friday with a total of 21,515 ballots cast and one day of early voting remaining.

That number represents 33% of the county’s registered voters and surpasses the early voting totals from both the 2016 (20,735) and 2020 (20,907) presidential elections – both totals represented new early voting records.

Saturday marks the final opportunity to vote ahead Tuesday’s Election Day.
