Gary Joseph “Webb” Weber


Gary Joseph “Webb” Weber, a devoted family man and admired educator, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in Morgantown, at the age of 80.
Born December 31, 1943, in Bernalillo, N.M., he was a son of the late Edison Paul Weber and Eva Montoya Weber; and the cherished sibling to Mary L. Dunaway, Margaret Ann “Beany” Bramer, Daniel E. Weber, James A. Weber, and Ramon Leonard Weber.
Gary grew up in the North View section of Clarksburg. Upon graduation from Victory High School in 1961, he attended Fairmont State College and later earned his master’s degree from West Virginia University.
He taught English and Social Studies at Morgantown High School for 33 years. Gary is warmly remembered as one who dedicated his life to instructing and guiding others.
Gary was an avid collector. He and his wife enjoyed traveling the East Coast buying and selling antiques and meeting many interesting people.
Gary learned to shoot pool at a young age in Clarksburg at the Strand Pool Room. His passion was playing pool and he became a master.
His memory will live on through his devoted wife, Linda Jo Core Weber; and his beloved son, Timothy Weber, along with Timothy’s wife, Toni, of Lancaster, Pa. His spirit will continue to bring joy to his grandchildren, Andrew Weber of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Philip Weber alongside his wife, Kelley, of York, Pa. Gary is also survived by his sister, Mary L. Dunaway of Fairmont; and doted upon by his nephews and niece, Jimmy, Mike and Doug Yost, Donnie Bramer, Eva Conner; as well as numerous cousins in New Mexico, especially Mary Ellen Montoya, who always stayed in touch and kept everyone up to date.
He has rejoined his first wife, Karol Elliott Weber; his parents; his sister, Margaret; and brothers, Daniel, James, and Ramon, in eternal rest. Gary’s remarkable life, characterized by kindness and amicable warmth, will be deeply missed and forever celebrated by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services. Visitation will be held in McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 15. Following the visitation, the family will host a gathering in Muriale’s Restaurant, 1742 Fairmont Avenue, Fairmont, at 3 p.m. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com.
