Tiny Conley

Tiny Pearl Conley, 100, of Kingwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024.
Tiny was born June 9, 1924, at the family farm in Edde Bend, Moore County, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late James E. Edde and Martha “Mattie” Durham Edde. Tiny was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She graduated from Moore County High School in 1943 and attended Nashville Business College. She married Ross W. Conley on Oct. 22, 1943, in Nashville, Tenn. Tiny was a partner with her late husband, Ross, in the ownership and operation of Conley’s Market in Kingwood for many years until they retired and moved to Hollywood, Fla., where they resided for several years before returning to Kingwood. She was a member of the Kingwood Wesley United Methodist Church for over 70 years, a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild, past Matron of the Kingwood Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Rowlesburg Chapter, for over 70 years.
She and Ross resided for a number of years in Hollywood, Fla., and attended Hollywood Hills Methodist Church. She was a member of the Hollywood Rotary Club, serving as secretary and treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Metropolitan Dinner Club and Hollywood Scholarship Club.
Tiny was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ross W. Conley; brothers, Jim Ed Edde, Hershel Edde and Jack D. Edde; sisters, Mary Dixie Edde Walker, Cathleen Edde Walker, Ruth Edde Hill, Lela Edde Cashion, Betty Jo Edde Moore, Katie Edde Bell and Jean Edde Anderson.
She is survived by her son, Donald R. Conley (Catherine), of Creedmoor, N.C.; grandchildren, James M. Conley (Grace), of Glen Allen, Va., and Jared A. Conley (Kellie), of Durham, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Alec, Ellie, Katlyn, Sean and Lachlan; and several nieces and nephews.
The family expresses a very special thank you to Tiny’s wonderful personal caregivers who assisted and comforted her in the final years of her life.
Friends and family will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood, on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, from 9 a.m. until funeral hour at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Nettles officiating. Interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery.
