Robert James DiGiovine, 72, of Morgantown, passed away on August 27, 2024.
Rob was born in Sewickley, Pa. on June 15, 1952, to John and Mary DiGiovine.
He grew up in Hopewell, Pa., and attended Hopewell High School before studying psychology at WVU. Rob met his future wife, Martha Fain, at WVU in 1973. They had one son, Daniel DiGiovine.
Rob’s health had been in decline for more than a decade and eventually, he succumbed to lung cancer. He spent the later part of his life as a resident of Morgantown Health and Rehab. Prior to his passing, he was able to meet and spend time with all four of his grandchildren.
Rob is survived by his ex-wife, Martha DiGiovine; son, Daniel DiGiovine and wife, Lauren DiGiovine (Bigley); grandchildren, Nick DiGiovine, Luke DiGiovine, Nora DiGiovine and Grace DiGiovine; sister, Maureen Follett and brother-in-law, Bill Follett, who reside in California; and nieces, Magic Follett-Flores and Chelsea Follett.
A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown, WV, from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
