PINE GROVE — The Clay-Battelle football team hit the road for a rare Monday night football match-up against the Valley Lumberjacks.
Originally scheduled for Friday evening, the game was postponed to Monday due to a social media threat.
The Lumberjacks (3-0) prevailed 33-7 over the Cee-Bees (1-2), thanks to five touchdowns from quarterback Gavin Derby.
Valley got out to a 19-0 lead on two passing touchdowns and a rushing score from Derby before Clay-Battelle got on the board with a five-yard touchdown pass from Braden Ponceroff to Landon Savage.
Derby would find the end zone two more times on the ground.
Clay-Battelle was scheduled to play again this week, but Friday’s game at Trinity Christian has been canceled and will not be made up.
