A Friday night in Mountaineer Country

Get ready for an arts-filled weekend in Mountaineer Country! From Friday-Sunday the region is brimming with a variety of events and opportunities to immerse yourself in the arts. Don’t miss out on the local art scene — plan your weekend now and get ready for an unforgettable experience. 

West Virginia Black Heritage Festival  

The West Virginia Black Heritage Festival will take place in downtown Clarksburg. The festival will feature over 50 vendors and various entertainment options to celebrate and honor Black history. It will begin on Friday and continue through  Sunday. The opening ceremony will be held at noon and most activities will take place  Saturday. The festival will include an annual golf tournament, performances by the Balafon West African Dancers, Lady D, West Side Rhythm and Blues, The Franchise, as well as a Michael Jackson tribute, and more.  

Downtown Morgantown First Friday for the Arts 

Downtown Morgantown will celebrate “Wild and Wonderful Art” during the First Friday for the Arts on Friday. From 6-9 p.m.,  explore various art exhibitions and galleries featuring local artists, Appalachian themes, live music, refreshments and demonstrations. Andrew White Guitars,  198 Foundry St., will present a special  painting demonstration from local artist Jesse Bagget, starting at 6:30 p.m. Other exhibitions and activities include a  reading from artist Holley Morrison at 218 Walnut St., a botanical exhibition from artist Rebecca Durst at 131 Pleasant St., and a Wild and Wonderful exhibition at 107 High St.  

Australian Pink Floyd  

The Australian Pink Floyd show will run from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Metropolitan Theatre in downtown Morgantown. Having sold over 3 million concert tickets across 35 countries, this show will surely bring a spectacular performance. Tickets are available for purchase at the Metropolitan Theatre or online, at ticketmaster.com/the-australian-pink-floyd-show-tickets/artist/854711.
