Task force seizes crack cocaine in Westover bust

A 42-year-old Ohio man is in custody after agents of the West Virginia State Police and the Monongalia County Drug Task Force executed a search Wednesday morning at a residence in Westover. 

According to a criminal complaint filed by Task Force Officer Aaron Dull, officers searched the 15 Fairmor Drive residence to find evidence supporting an investigation regarding the distribution of cocaine base by Anwar S. Taylor and another individual. 

During the search, Taylor, 42, of Columbus, Ohio, was encountered and taken into custody. 

Task force officers seized approximately one ounce of cocaine base, commonly known as crack cocaine, from the home along with other evidence of drug distribution. 

Taylor was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. 

He is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail with a $35,000 bond.
