More to do than just football in Mountaineer Country

While it’s always sad to see Summer go, Fall is here and there’s just as much to do! It’s no secret the Mountaineers own Saturdays in the fall, but it’s still important to enjoy the variety of fun in Monongalia County! Make sure you and your loved ones experience the wonderful hikes, restaurants and fun outings that fill this season (while cheering on the Mountaineers!)

  • Plain White T’s Concert, 6:30 p.m.  Friday  

It’s not too late to enjoy live outdoor music. Kick off your long weekend with The Plain White Ts. Stop by the Ruby Amphitheatre to experience a fun and free pop performance. You won’t want to miss the final show of the Ruby Summer Concert Series.  

  • Hello June, 6:30 p.m. Saturday   

The Monongalia County Parks & Recreation Summer Concert Series is also hosting its final concert of the season. Fans of indie rock and live music are invited to Chestnut Ridge Park for the Hello June concert. Tickets are $5 and don’t forget your blankets and lawn chairs.  

  • Australian Pink Floyd concert, 8 p.m. Sept. 6  

The Australian Pink Floyd Band is coming to Morgantown. The band has sold over 5 million tickets across 35 countries. The London Times has even coined the band as the “gold standard.” Stop by the Metropolitan Theatre for a show and night you won’t want to miss. Tickets can be purchased anywhere from $40 -$100. 

  • Youth Sports Day, 3:30 p.m. Sept.  7 

Join West Virginia Football for its fifth annual Youth Sports Day. Young athletes receive a ticket for the Albany game, and an invitation to join in on exclusive pre-game activities. Tickets are $40. The Mountaineers can’t wait to see you there!  

  • 2024 Taste of Morgantown, 3 p.m. Sept. 8  

Enjoy some of north-central West Virginia’s best restaurants at the 2024 Taste of Morgantown event. Guests have the opportunity to experience unique sample dishes and vote on their favorites. Stop by Mylan Park on  Sept. 8 to enjoy food, beer trucks, live music and entertainment for all ages. The Taste of Morgantown is a can’t-miss afternoon!  

  • Stuffed Designer Purse Bingo, benefiting the Tri-County Walk to End Alzheimer’s, noon Sept. 8  

Are you feeling lucky? Attend the 4th annual Designer Purse Bingo for your chance to win a designer bag while supporting a great cause. For $25 dollars, attendees get 20 games of bingo and the opportunity to make a difference in the Tri-County Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Don’t miss your chance to win a Kate Spade, Coach, Michael Kors or Dooney and Bourke bag.
