Radiothon raises more than $170K for WVU Medicine Children’s

This year’s WVU Medicine Children’s and WVRC Media Cares for Kids Radiothon raised $172,434 in two days.

Donations will still be accepted until tonight at this link, https://donate.mygift4kids.

Listeners heard from WVU Medicine Children’s patients and their families throughout both days sharing inspirational stories. Health care providers and staff shared how the community’s support impacts patients each day by giving hope and comfort. All donations go to the greatest needs of WVU Medicine Children’s.

Nine radio stations were live from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Hostetler Family Resource Center at WVU Medicine Children’s. More than 30 radio stations carried the broadcast live across West Virginia and the surrounding region.

“All of us at WVRC Media and MetroNews were pleased to assist WVU Medicine Children’s with this Radiothon. So many children right in our home communities will benefit from the dollars raised during the event. Making a child’s visit or stay in the hospital a better experience is a great cause and one that we are proud to assist with,” George Pelletier, president and CEO of WVRC Media, said.

“The Radiothon is a powerful tool to raise the critical funds needed to help the kids and expectant mothers in our state and region,” said Amy Bush, chief administrative officer, WVU Medicine Children’s. “We are grateful for our continued partnership with WVRC Media and also for the community who continue to support our mission to build healthier futures for our kids.”
