The Morgantown Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding an unidentified body found near a bridge on Don Knotts Boulevard at approximately 6:43 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20.
Little additional information was shared by the department in an Aug. 21 press release regarding the discovery. The Dominion Post was told no updates were available as of Thursday afternoon regarding basic information such as the specific location and whether the individual was male or female.
According to the release, police do not believe the individual to be a documented missing person and no foul play is suspected.
Once the medical examiner’s report is received and the individual has been identified, MPD said it will notify next of kin before releasing additional information to the public.
