Susan Snodgrass

Susan “Susie” Faye Snodgrass, 73, of Daybrook, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Sunday, August 19, 2024.

Susan was born to Richard and Maxine Snodgrass on Feb. 12, 1951, in Daybrook.

Susie was a special child of God and loved everyone she ever met. Once Susie met someone, she never forgot them. She could remember everything about them and their family and always wanted to know about them. She never met a stranger and loved to give the biggest hug possible and check fingers to see who was or wasn’t married.

Susie loved old country music like Conway Twitty and Charlie Pride and watching westerns. Susie attended Daybrook Methodist Church and particularly liked helping with Vacation Bible School each summer. Susie’s favorite song to sing was “Jesus Loves Me,” which she was able to sing right up to her last days.

Susie loved to collect stuffed animals, especially Snoopy and everything purple. She also loved purses and wanted her sister-in-law, Debbie, to always get her a purse every birthday and Christmas.

Susie lived her whole life in Daybrook until the last few years when she resided in Morgantown Health and Rehab.

Susie is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Debbie Snodgrass, of Daybrook; a sister-in-law, Michelle Snodgrass, of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her special uncle and aunt, Virgil and Granny Cass Tennant; a sister, Gwendolyn Sollars; a brother, Rudy “Tink” Snodgrass; a nephew, Bob Sollers; and a sleeping baby niece, Rebecca Jo Snodgrass.

The family would like to especially thank the wonderful and caring staff of Morgantown Health and Rehab and Amedisys Hospice for the love and support they have shown to Susie and the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Daybrook Methodist Church, 2552 Daybrook Road Fairview, WV 26570, marked Vacation Bible School since Susie loved that so much.

The family will receive friends at Daybrook Methodist Church, 2552 Daybrook Road in Fairview, from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 24. The funeral service will be at the church at noon on Saturday with the Rev. Fred Eddy officiating. Interment will follow at Daybrook Cemetery.
