Samuel Willis Phillips III, 76, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly at the Mon Health Medical Center on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
He was born April 13, 1948, in Morgantown, a son of the late Betty (Aumeier) and Samuel Phillips Jr.
Sam graduated in 1967 from Morgantown High School, and then from an electrical trade school. He worked for the West Virginia University physical plant for 42 years.
Surviving Is his wife of 53 years, Wilma (Dennis) Phillips; a daughter, Samantha Host and husband, Phil; one grandson, Caleb Host; one brother, Dusty Phillips and wife, Janet, of Lincointon, Ga.; two sisters, Calleen Liddle and husband, Allan, of Uniontown, Pa., and Lisa Phillips, of Westover; sisters-in-law, Shirley Beatty and Vickie Dennis, of Morgantown, and Joyce Dennis, of Greensboro, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews and their families.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa., with Vickie Dennis officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Pa.
