Bobby J. Liston, 86, of Wadestown, passed away at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
He was born in Lenox, on Aug. 26, 1937, a son of the late Walter and Lottie Howdershelt Liston.
He was known to his closest family and friends as “Homer.” Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from Feb. 1956 to Feb. 1960. He worked at Pittsburgh Valve in Reedsville and retired from the Blacksville No. 2 Mine as a coal miner. Bobby had a combined family of 23 siblings.
Bobby is survived by four sons, Mike Hornyak and wife, Karen, of Masontown, Bob Hornyak and wife, Barbara, of Arthurdale, Larry Liston and wife, Lisa, of Valley Point and Garry Liston and companion, Kami Dalton; daughter, Patricia Branson and husband, Mike, of Raleigh, N.C.; a very special nephew who he considered a son, Barry Martino, of Wadestown; four sisters, Ida Row, Betty Martino, Kathleen Emerson and Lucy Mayne; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith (Ault) Liston and several of his siblings.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, W.Va. from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, and from 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, until the time of service at noon with the Rev. Bill Winston officiating. Interment will follow at Arthurdale Cemetery.
