MORGANTOWN — WVU men’s basketball coach Darian DeVries and several players visited with patients and staff of the WVU Cancer Institute’s Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center on Monday.
“There were a lot of smiling faces, and it was a great way to kick off the week,” WVU Medicine President and CEO Albert Wright said. “We have a great relationship with the WVU coaches and athletes from many sports, and we appreciate the time they spend brightening the days of our patients and families.”
Wright continued, “The WVU Cancer Institute is a special place with a special team — one committed to overcoming the unique cancer challenges facing West Virginia and beyond. … A big thank you to Coach DeVries. … Visits like these always lift the spirits of our patients and staff. Basketball season is still a few months away, but we can’t wait for the Mountaineers to get started!”
