Marlene Kay (DeSicy) Frankenberry, 81, a lifelong resident of Point Marion, Pa., died at her home following a lengthy illness on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Born in Point Marion, Pa. on Jan. 17, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Maxine (Murray) DeSicy.
A 1961 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, Marlene worked for the school district in the high school cafeteria and was later employed at Apple Annie’s in Point Marion, Pa. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Point Marion for many years.
Surviving are her two daughters and their husbands, Stacy and Jim Moats, of Point Marion, Pa., and Kelly and Stephen Leonard, of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Rachel Frankenberry (her caregiver for the past two years), Kimberly Frankenberry, Logan Moats and Emma Moats; and one sister, Sheila Ansel, of Cortland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death on Jan. 27, 2022, by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth A. Frankenberry; a son, Kenny, in 2008; and a sister, Alberta Balsega.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no public services at this time. A private interment service will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Pa.
