Larry Keener

Larry James Keener, 76, of Denver-Tunnelton, passed away at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown on Friday, July 12, 2024.  

He was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Grafton, a son of the late James Franklin Keener and Catherine Marie (Bohon) Keener.  

His wife, Nancy K. (Parsons) Keener survives. They were united in marriage for 57 years. 

Larry retired from the former Sheidow Bronze where he worked as a pattern maker. He was a 1966 graduate of Tunnelton High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam era. He was a member of the West End United Brethren Church. He also served as president of the Denver Water Association and in past years, served as president of the Buckwheat County CB Club and React. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stacy James Keener, of Tunnelton, and Todd Alan Keener and wife, Amber, of Reedsville; two sisters, Carolyn Lantz Moore and Marjorie “Marty” Keener Plum, both of Tunnelton; two granddaughters, Kodi Marie and Taleah Ashleigh Bruen and husband, Matt; and three great-granddaughters, River, Parker and Marlee. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Todd McQuinn. 

A memorial service will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV 26537, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with Pastor Rocky Ridenour officiating, along with full military honors. The Keener family will receive friends at noon, one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Private inurnment at Denver-Shaw Cemetery, Denver, W.Va.
