Landyn Joseph Conley was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him.
Born on June 24, 2020, in Morgantown, Landyn’s infectious smile and boundless energy brought joy to every day. Tragically, on July 6, 2024, at the tender age of four, Landyn passed away at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital due to an accidental drowning.
Landyn’s love for life was evident in his enthusiasm for his favorite things. He was an avid fan of dinosaurs and could often be found roaring along with them. SpongeBob SquarePants episodes were a staple in the Conley household, bringing laughter and delight to Landyn and his family. His love for “Toy Story” was unmatched, having watched the movie countless times with the same wonder and excitement each viewing.
Bubbles, fireworks and balloons captivated Landyn’s imagination, and he cherished being outdoors. One of his greatest pleasures was enjoying a popsicle under the sun, a simple joy that encapsulated his sweet and carefree spirit.
He leaves behind a loving family: his mother, Kayla Bena; father, Robert Conley Jr.; siblings, Paytton and Arianna Turner and Colby Medley; paternal grandparents, Robert Conley and wife, Jennifer; uncle, Ethan Conley; maternal grandmother, Melissa Barill; uncle, Joshua Bena; and his special aunts, Michelle Conley and Holly Conley. Landyn’s memory will also be cherished by his numerous extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly.
Landyn’s life, though brief, was a testament to the pure joy and love a child brings into the world. His spirit will forever be a guiding light to those he touched during his precious time on earth.
Friends and family will gather at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 15, and again from 1 p.m. at the Fred Jenkins Chapel of Prayer until time of services at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with Pat Donnelly officiating. Landyn will be cremated following the services with a private inurnment ceremony.
