Jared Schreiman

The family of Jared Harper Schreiman is saddened by his death after a brief illness on July 8, 2024, in Morgantown.

Jared was born in Rochester, Minn. on Jan. 11, 1981.

He lived in Minnesota and Nebraska before the family moved to Morgantown in 1992. He attended Morgantown area schools, West Virginia University and Fairmont State University.

Jared enjoyed working various jobs in Morgantown, including bartending at Garfield’s Restaurant and Hibachi, performing custodial work for West Virginia University and private companies and providing event security through Rhino and CSC.

Jared was a kind, sympathetic and unassuming man who cared more about others than himself. His enthusiasm for sports was widely known and he always showed his pride in the Mountaineers and the Steelers. He enjoyed music, often quoting lyrics from his favorite artists and from childhood campfire songs. He could recall memories in vivid detail of people and places from his past, which he frequently wove into humorous stories. He never forgot a friend — new or old. Jared’s caring nature and kindness are our blessings.

Jared was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bruce Schreiman.

He is survived by his mother, Judith Stark Schreiman (Gerald Iwan); his sister, Jessica Schreiman Rowan (Anthony Rowan); his nephews, Christian, Foster and Chandler Rowan; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and a countless number of friends.

Jared was Lutheran by faith and had great trust in the Lord. As he wished, his remains will be buried in the family cemetery at the Stark “Prairie Jewel” Farm in Unityville, S.D.
