Jackie Lee Yost, 88, known affectionately to friends and family as Jack, passed away peacefully in Morgantown on July 10, 2024.
Born on Aug. 2, 1935, in Core, he was the son of the late Willis Clark Yost and Delta Shuman Yost.
Jack served his country valiantly as an Army Veteran and spent many years working diligently as a coal miner for Consol Energy. He attended the Arnettsville United Methodist Church, where his faith and fellowship were central to his life.
Jack’s joyful spirit was echoed in his love for the outdoors, where he could often be found woodworking, hunting and fishing.
His warmth and generosity knew no bounds and were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth B. Yost; son, Kevin Yost; and sister, Patricia Massey.
Jack’s memory will live on through his son, Mark and wife, Linda Yost; daughter-in-law, Diane Yost; and brother, Larry and wife, Willa Yost. His legacy continues to flourish through his doting grandchildren, Kasey, Evan, Lee, Dale, Brett and Jason; as well as several adored great-grandchildren.
Jackie Lee Yost’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, service to his community and an enduring love for the simple joys of life. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
In honoring Jack’s wishes there will be no services. McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services.
