Old Stone House to host book fair July 20

Looking for some reading opportunities for your children?

A PaperPie Book Fair will be  from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  July 20 at the Old Stone House Gift Shop.

Sponsored by Service League of Morgantown, this event is held annually each summer.

Choose from books for children from Usborne Publishing and Kane Miller Books, as well as Learning Wrap-Ups (educational manipulatives) and SmartLab Toys (maker of steam-based toys and games).

Mexican God’s Eye yarn weaving will also be available as a free hands-on craft activity for kids. Children may make their own or pick an already made one. Face-painting will also be provided.

Profits from the sale provide funding for books and media supplies to Monongalia County K-12 school libraries.

Last year Service League’s Book Committee donated a total of $3,026 to 10 Mon County libraries. The 2023-24 recipients were Brookhaven Elementary, Cheat Lake Elementary, Eastwood Elementary, Mason-Dixon Elementary, Monongalia County Head Start, Mylan Park Elementary, Ridgedale Elementary, Skyview Elementary and Suncrest Elementary.
