Bobbi’s World keeps kids active when outside play is a problem

Active play and physical activity are crucial for raising happy, healthy kids. However, there can be barriers to playing outside, whether from winter storms, summer heat waves  or a lack of safe outdoor spaces. Until recently, local families had limited options for indoor play.

Bobbi’s World: Party and Play Zone, which held its grand-opening in June, offers a haven of indoor fun for families with children aged 12 and under. Located off Baker’s Ridge Road, it is convenient for residents of many Morgantown neighborhoods.

Owner Bobbi McClelland, who also runs Storybook Daycare in Star City, used her wealth of experience to develop a space that is both safe and enjoyable for small humans. Excess energy can be spent climbing, crawling and sliding in the vast soft play area.

Bobbi’s World is open Wednesdays through Sundays. The 10 a.m.-noon block is reserved for children under 5, giving the smallest visitors to  Bobbi’s World  space to explore and setting their caregivers at ease.

Walk-ins are welcome, but a discount is offered for booking a session online at bobbisworldwv.com. Discounts are also offered to military families, families with three or more children, and groups of 10 or more paying together. Children under 18 months  are welcome to play for free on Thursday mornings. On Wednesdays, paying for a one-hour session grants all-day play.

Beyond open play sessions, Bobbi’s World offers birthday party packages for 12-24 guests. The packages include free play, cupcakes and a gift for the birthday child. There is also a gift for the parents — a dedicated host to ensure a smoothly run and memorable event.

Socks and a signed waiver are required to play at Bobbi’s World. In addition, a caregiver must stick around to supervise the fun, perhaps with some nachos from the in-house snack stand for company.
