Mailing center by day, cigar lounge by night.
Not a common thought to combine the two, right?
But Tami Winston had some plans in mind when she opened up White Hall Ship and More in Marion County.
White Hall Ship and More provides the basic offerings of a post office — but there are some unique qualities that are far more note-worthy than the price of stamps.
The center offers shipping through USPS, UPS, Fedex, provides P.O. box rentals, printing services, copying, scanning, faxing, T-shirt printing and embroidery services, as well as cigar sales and a lounge/bar, an event center for rent and scheduled events.
The lounge is open during regular business hours from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and for after-hours, reservations can be made by going to whitehallshipandmore.com/cigar-lounge
Winston said she believes her business was welcomed by the community and continues to make a positive impact.
“It makes me happy as a business owner to hear the compliments of how clean our place is, how friendly we are and that they are so happy that we are in this area,” Winston said. “We get thanks all the time for opening in this area.”
Local resident and regular customer Becky Carvillano said White Hall Ship and More has helped immensely with her weekly trips to a post office.
“It’s a blessing to have a post office in our area,” Carvillano said. “You couldn’t find nicer people to work with.”
Owning a small business is no simple task, though, which is why Winston values each of her customers.
“Owning a small business requires a lot of hard work and dedication. It involves many sleepless nights, but when you have those clients coming in that are friendly, and they thank you for helping them, it makes it worth it.” Winston said.
Bobby Nicholas, another local resident, recently held his own event at Ship and More and said it’s a nice alternative for people looking to host smaller events. Nicholas hosted “Queen for a Day” there, and intends to rent the Ship and More space again in the future.
White Hall Ship and More opened for business in March 2023 at 13 Opal Drive, White Hall.
The facility is next to Winston’s husband’s tire shop, Winston Wheels and Tires, which has been established for eight years.
White Hall Ship and More is working towards having Amazon Prime QR code returns available in-store next, but Winston said it is more difficult to obtain as a mom-and-pop store.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. noon on Saturdays.
