The Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary announced its Giving Tree Fundraiser in honor of Christmas in July.
Throughout the month of July, donations will be accepted to benefit Mon Health Medical Center’s Care Closet.
Located near the Emergency Department, Mon Health Medical Center has a closet dedicated to providing new clothes to patients and their families in need. Organized by the Mon Health Medical Center Auxiliary and volunteers at the hospital, new clothes of all types and sizes are donated and given out as needed.
In a recent clothing drive, more than 500 articles of clothing were donated to the Care Closet.
All Mon Health Medical Center staff members have access to the Care Closet and can collect clothes for their patients or patient families in need of fresh clothing.
For the Christmas in July Fundraiser, the Giving Tree will be located next to the Mon Health Medical Center Gift Shop throughout the month. The tree is decorated with tags labeled with clothing items needed for the Care Closet. Tags can be picked up now through July 31. Donations of new, unwrapped clothing items that match the selected tag will be accepted through Aug. 9.
“Our Care Closet is a valuable asset to the hospital and our patients in need,” said Jacob Mulder, director of volunteer services and guest services. “We are proud to host this Christmas in July fundraiser and hope to rally the community and staff to donate to this great cause.”
