Harry Carver Jr.

Harry Edward “Bud” Craver Jr., 84, of Mount Morris, Pa., passed away at home on Sunday, June 30, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 25, 1940, in Swanton, Md., a son of the late Harry Edward Craver Sr. and Mary Catherine Brobst Craver.

He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. Bud was employed by J.E. Dulaney Oil Company for 38 years. He attended Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God until his health prevented him from doing so.

Bud was an avid hunter, fisherman and vegetable gardener. Many Saturdays he could be found fishing his favorite streams, either Crabtree or Bear Creek in Garrett County, Md. When hunting season came around, Bud was probably the first person in the woods and was probably one of the last ones out. He had a love of sports, with baseball being his favorite. He coached Little League and played church softball.

On May 20, 1962, he married Dora Ruth Stoneking Craver, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Frances Craver Friend and husband, Ron; two sons, Joe Craver, Jim Craver and wife, Savithri; one sister, Amanda Louie and husband, Keith; five brothers, Charles Craver and wife, Sonya, Ronald Craver, Kevin Craver and wife, Tammy, Brian Craver, Roger Craver and wife, Carol; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deceased are two sisters, Dora May Craver and Rosemarie Craver; and one brother, Richard Craver.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all those who cared for Bud during his illness, with a special thanks to Nicole Hilling and our very own angel among us and caregiver extraordinaire, Amy Haines.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services at this time. A greeting of friends and Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at the Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, 103 School Road, Mt. Morris, PA 15349, with Pastor Joe Adams officiating.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc.
