Mylan Park unveiled a series of significant upgrades that reaffirm its status as a leading health and wellness destination in north-central West Virginia.
These developments are set to enhance the park’s offerings, providing extraordinary quality-of-life benefits to the community while driving tourism to the region.
“Mylan Park’s latest developments are a testament to our dedication to enhancing the health and wellness of our community while also promoting tourism and economic growth in the region,” said Susan Riddle, vice president of the Mylan Park Foundation (MPF) board of directors and president and CEO of Visit Mountaineer Country Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We are excited about the opportunities these facilities will provide to attract a variety of user groups to north-central West Virginia.”
The first of the upgrades is the all-new turf on the Anker Sports Complex, which can now accommodate a variety of sports practices and competitions. These state-of-the-art fields will serve as a premier venue for local, regional and national events, further establishing Mountaineer Country as a sports destination.
Another exciting addition is the KOA Campground, anticipated to open in Spring 2025. The completed campground will feature campsites, cabins, more than 145 full hookup RV sites and several other amenities throughout Mylan Park. It will provide comfortable and convenient lodging options for visitors.
Pickleball fans will also soon have access to six new outdoor pickleball courts. These courts are part of Mylan Park’s commitment to offering diverse recreational opportunities that cater to various interests and age groups.
The park is home to the West Virginia State Pickleball Championships.
What might be the most exciting upgrade yet is the upcoming Mountaineer Bike Yard at Mylan Park, a cutting-edge BMX facility slated for completion some time next year. This facility will cater to BMX riders of all skill levels and is expected to become a major attraction for both residents and visitors.
Key features of the Bike Yard will include a USA-BMX-sanctioned racetrack, jump flow lines, a pump track and more.
“With these new upgrades, Mylan Park continues to set the standard for recreational and sporting facilities,” said Ron Justice, president of the MPF board of directors. “We are committed to providing extraordinary quality-of-life perks for our residents and creating a vibrant, welcoming destination for visitors.”
Mylan Park’s continuous growth and development highlights its role as a cornerstone of the community, fostering a lively, active lifestyle and contributing to the region’s appeal as a top-tier destination for sports and recreation.
