Sierra Jean (Nabors) Burnette, 76, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at her home with loved ones by her side on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
She was born Oct. 12, 1947, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Nabors, of Morgantown.
She was a devoted caregiver, providing comfort and support to families through private duty care. Sierra went above and beyond to ensure the well-being of those in her care.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorthy (Nabors) Swihart and brother, James Nabors, all of Morgantown.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ted Burnette; her son, Michael Burnette (Tammy), of Morgantown; daughter, Michelle Luzader; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Logan Burnette (Zada Williams), Jordan Burnette (Baily), Jason Luzader, Nicole Luzader, Kelsey Luzader; and three great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Jaelynn and Hendrix.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 13. Visitation will continue at Faith Baptist Church, 809 Greenbag Road Morgantown, WV 26508, from 10 a.m. on Friday until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Treg Spicer officiating. Following the service, Sierra will be laid to rest at Zion Cemetery, Sunset Beach Road, Morgantown.
