One person died in an accident late Monday afternoon on Grafton Road involving a Toyota truck and an ATV.
At around 3:45 p.m. Monongalia County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene near the intersection of Grafton Road and Horseman’s Trail.
According to a press release, initial investigations found that a 2014 Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound on Grafton Road when the driver crossed the center line to pass other traffic heading northbound.
At the same time, a 2024 Honda ATV was traveling in the southbound lane of Grafton Road. The Toyota struck the ATV head-on in the southbound lane. The driver of the ATV died on the scene from his injuries.
Grafton Road was closed for several hours while deputies and accident reconstructionists worked the scene. They were assisted by the Triune-Halleck and Clinton District volunteer fire departments and Monongalia EMS.
Deputies are still investigating the crash and are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.
