Betty Lea Satterfield, 92, of Core, passed away at her home, following an extended illness on May 22, 2024.
She was born July 18, 1931, in Millersville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas and Hazel Kirby Hickman.
Betty enjoyed embroidery and making quilts. Along with her son, she owned and operated University Estate Outlet, an antique and used furniture store in Morgantown, for seven years. She also enjoyed camping with her late husband, Glenn.
Survivors include her two children, David West and Dora Smith; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Emma Hall, of Fairview; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul, Florence, Frances, Albert, Patricia, Earl, Drucilla, Doris and Ike.
The family would like to thank her hospice nurses for being so caring — especially Sarah and Meshia.
At her request, Betty has been cremated. No public services are scheduled.
