He gave a helping hand to those in need and helped many families and friends.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Pappy Joe at Harmony Comfort Care and Morgantown Amedysis Hospice and the First United Bank and Trust employees who sometimes went out of their way to help. Blessings to them all.

Per his wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial services. His wish was to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, handled by Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown.
