Allen was a hardworking man as a farmer on his family farm for many years and doing masonry work as a bricklayer with Local Union #15. He enjoyed birdwatching and was a diehard WVU and Pittsburgh sports fan. He was witty and had a great sense of humor. He was staunch in faith and very religious. But above all, he was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
The last six weeks of Allen’s life were spent at home with his family and being cared for by Courtney, Carla and the wonderful folks at WV Caring Hospice, whom the family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to for the care and love they showed to him.
Allen’s request was to keep things simple. In doing so, he will be cremated, and a private family committal service will be held at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
Until we meet again at the feet of Jesus…
