Bree Morecraft, 99, of Pearland, Texas, passed away in Houston on May 18, 2024.
Bree was born on March 30, 1925, to Joseph and Bree Coffindaffer in Winding Gulf, W.Va.
Bree received her bachelor’s degree in home economics and child psychology at West Virginia University. Later in life, she went on to work for the university’s Engineering School and served a longtime career in the Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Department.
Bree was also a member of the Monongahela chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists. Bree was an avid reader with a love and appreciation for books, novels and language arts. She had a love of music from the big band era and for modern contemporary styles.
Bree is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Bree Coffindaffer; and her husband, Fred H. Morecraft Sr.
Bree is survived by her son, Fred H. Morecraft Jr. and his wife, Becky; her grandchildren, Fred H. Morecraft III and his wife, Shannon, and John G. Morecraft and wife, Nichole. Bree is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Delany, Peyton, Isabel, Ophelia and Brooks.
