Jack Whipkey

The Whipkey family shares with profound sadness the passing of Jack Dwayne Whipkey, who left us peacefully in Morgantown on May 11, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born in New Martinsville, W.Va. on Dec. 1, 1944, to the late Dwayne Herbert and Kathleen Martin Whipkey.

A cherished life partner to Sharon; a guiding star to his children, Shawn (Randy), Herbert Dwayne (Karen), Michael Morgan and Evyn Wayne; and a sibling to Billie Jo DeVall, Jack’s legacy rippled through generations. His grandchildren, Matthew (Stephanie), Brandon (Tesla), Jaclyn (Adam), Brooklyn and Theodore, as well as his great-grandchildren, Ariel, Kanlyn and Magnolia will forever treasure his memory.

A man who found serenity in the great outdoors, Jack devoted countless hours to camping, fishing and gardening. Above all, the joy of his life was the precious moments spent with his family. Jack’s door was always open to anyone who entered, sharing whatever he had. He will be deeply missed and eternally remembered for his enduring warmth, wisdom, and the gentle strength of his presence.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at McCulla Funeral Home in Westover.
