Antonietta Forlini, 99, of Morgantown, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
She was born April 4, 1925, in Collelongo, Italy to the late Antonio and Caminella (Vanattecci) Cerone.
She arrived in America in 1950, settling in Morgantown, where she soon met and married her husband, the late Guy J. Forlini. They were members of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, now known as St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church.
Antonietta was an avid walker and could often been seen walking throughout downtown Morgantown. She was famous within her family for being an excellent cook, specifically for her gnocchi.
She is survived by her daughter, Josephine Forlini, of Morgantown; niece, Linda Cerone, of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews in Morgantown and Italy.
In addition to her parents, Antonietta was preceded in death by her husband, Guy J. Forlini; children, Louis, Louis, Marlena and Guy Jr.; siblings, Joseph, Nicola, Ramo and Palmina Cerone; and nephew, Domenico (Linda) Cerone.
Friends and family will be received at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 13. Visitation will continue at the church from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14 from until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, S.T.D. as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Antonietta’s memory be made to St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508.
