Jean (Mackey) Jackson, 80, of Morgantown, and formerly of the Dilliner, Pa. area, went on to meet her heavenly father on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
She was the daughter of the late Loyal Jacob and Emma Marie (Blaker) Mackey.
A 1962 graduate of Mapletown High School, she was a faithful member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Dilliner, Pa. She worked part-time over the years for Southeastern Greene School District as a cook and janitor, for Sycamore Lanes and as a cashier at K-Mart in Morgantown. Jean has weathered many storms in her life and yet was always a happy person with a warm smile. She maintained her friendships with her co-workers and friends from growing up in Garards Fort, Pa.
Waiting for her in heaven is her beloved husband, Edward Nelson Jackson, who passed away on Sept. 10, 2009. They were married on Sept. 17, 1963, and she often said he was the only person that made her feel special. Also deceased is her sister, Barbara JoAnn Keller.
Surviving are her daughters and their husbands, Frances and Rick White and Deborah and Jeff Snyder, all of Morgantown. Their two daughters blessed her with four grandsons, who were the apple of her eye, Darrell White, Chris White, Joshua Valentin (daughter, Mila) and Daniel Valentin. Also surviving are two siblings, Don Mackey (Marcia), of Nemacolin, Pa., and Linda Miller (Lester), of Laurel Point.
Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Pa. from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, and again from 10 a.m. on Saturday until the 11 a.m. hour of service, with the Rev. Kenneth Haines officiating. Interment follows in Garards Fort Cemetery.
Special thanks are extended to the staff at Morgantown Health and Rehab Center for the love and care shown to Jean during her illness. Memorial donations may be offered to the Mount Pleasant U.M.C., c/o Neila Vernon, Treasurer, 443 Dilliner Hill Road, Dilliner, PA 15327.
