Faye Loray Morgan, 87, of Morgantown, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Faye was born on April 14, 1937, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Allen and Virginia Comp.
She was the loving wife of the late Rev. Melvin E. Morgan. Together they raised five sons, Melvin Jr., Dennis, Allen (Pam), David (Paula), Mark and William Kerns (Jennifer), all of Morgantown. Faye has four grandchildren, Dennis Jr. (Shari), of Ohio, Megan (Mikey) Nixon, Ashley (Deon II) McMillen, Justin (Destinee) Kerns, all of Morgantown. Also surviving Faye is her sister, Jean (Allen) Burner, of Morgantown; brother, Fred Comp, of Texas; and a dear friend of the family, someone who was like a brother to all of them, Leonard Wolfe.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Jim Comp; husband, the Rev. Melvin E. Morgan; two sons, Melvin Jr. and William A. Kerns Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Morgan.
Faye was very proud of her boys who sang the gospel in song for more than 40 years. She truly loved her church family at Zoar House of Prayer and loved to sing her praise for the Lord.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to all of the WVU Hospice nurses for all the love they showed during her illness. Those girls are angels!
At the request of the family, Faye will be cremated, and no public services will be held.
Smith Funeral & Cremation Care and SFCC Crematory, of Westover/Morgantown, is providing care and guidance to the family.
