Two people were injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in downtown Morgantown.
Morgantown police are investigating the incident.
According to information from the Morgantown Police Department, officers responded to the area of 233 Walnut Street at approximately 2:51 a.m. Saturday following reports of a gun being fired.
On scene, officers found a female who had an injury from a gunshot. A police report indicated she had been grazed by a bullet and the injury was to her left abdominal area. She was transported by Monongalia EMS to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.
A second victim, a male who had a gunshot wound to his right foot, was reported a short time later by Ruby Memorial staff.
During their investigation, MPD officers determined that a male suspect had gotten into a fight with an employee at Liquid Lounge, then left the establishment.
Outside on the sidewalk, the suspect reportedly produced a gun and fired an undetermined number of times.
According to MPD, officers were able to contact witnesses who described the suspect and gave information about the incident.
MPD detectives also responded and have interviewed several persons of interest and are continuing to investigate, reviewing all available evidence.
As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made.
