The identity of the man killed in a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Smithtown Road and Smithtown School Road on Wednesday evening was released Friday afternoon by the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office.
Bradley Fairman, 57, of Fairmont, was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident.
On the scene, deputies found a 2001 GMC box truck that had crashed into a large culvert near the intersection of the two roads.
According to the sheriff’s office, EMS and fire personnel found Fairman, who was driving the truck, unresponsive.
Triune-Halleck and Clinton District Volunteer Fire Departments responded along with Mon and Marion EMS.
The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department and no additional information, including what caused Fairman to drive into the culvert, is available.
