Nicci R. “Nic” McFadden passed away at WVU Uniontown Hospital on Monday, April 22, 2024.
He was born Jan. 12, 1953, in Uniontown, Pa.
Preceding him in death were his loving parents, Richard and Esther McFadden.
Nic was a graduate of Fairchance-Georges High School and WVU, with degrees as physician assistant and radiologic technologist.
Nic was employed as a radiologic technologist at Connellsville State General Hospital for 10 years, then physician assistant and surgical assistant in the cardiothoracic unit at Mon General Hospital, as well as the neurosurgery department at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for over 30 years. He dedicated his life to helping others and brought a smile to all who knew him. Nic also taught a few semesters at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa. He was a “Distinguished Fellow” of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Nic was an accomplished guitarist and enjoyed playing with various bands. He developed many lasting friendships in the guitar world.
Nic is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Virginia “Ginny” Marcinko McFadden. Also surviving are his special aunt and uncle, Tom and Shirley Ondrejko, of Washington, Pa.; special cousins, Tom (Sally) Ondrejko, of Upper St. Clair, Pa., Sheryl Ondrejko, of Cannonsburg, Pa., Tony (Carla) Ondrejko, of Peters Twp., Pa., Chris (Liz) Ondrejko, of Washington, Pa., Steve (Susan)Ondrejko, of Scenery Hill, Pa., and Susan Preamble, of Uniontown, Pa. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Arlene (Jerry) Peterson, of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Angie Schimansky, of Fairchance, Pa., and Nancy (Wally) Zwijac, of Las Vegas; and brothers-in-law, Tom (Cynthia) Marcinko, of Arizona, Larry Marcinko, of Georgia, Mike Marcinko, of Pittsburgh, and Pat Marcinko, of Wisconsin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nic will be sadly missed by his family, friends and special dogs, Duncan and Ziggy. He was kind, smart, funny and a blessing to his family and patients.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Uniontown, Pa.

Viewing is private for family, but friends are welcome to attend the funeral service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 121 Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA 15401, at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29, with Pastor Jim Engel officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
