The First Energy Foundation Community and Diversity Day will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan Park.
Attendees can expect a wide array of activities aimed at embracing diversity, fostering connections and promoting inclusivity within the community.
Here’s what’s in store for the community:
- Free Play
- Earn Free Swim: Dive into the festivities and enjoy complimentary access to The Aquatic Center from 1-6 p.m. by simply attending the event.
- Cultural Exhibitions and Scavenger Hunt: Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of cultures through exhibitions and participate in a scavenger hunt.
- Global Music: Let the rhythm move you with DJ’d music from diverse traditions across the globe.
- Craft Corner: Connect through creativity at the craft corner, where you can engage in hands-on artistic activities for all ages.
- International Games: Join in on the fun with a selection of international games and activities suitable for everyone.
- Photo Booth: Capture precious moments with loved ones at a photo booth, complete with fun props and backdrops.
In addition to these activities, special workshops and demonstrations are scheduled:
- Noon — Bridge Builders Workshop: Join us for an interactive session aimed at fostering understanding and empathy across different communities.
- 1 p.m. — Community Robotics Demo: Immerse yourself in the exciting world of robotics with a demonstration highlighting how technology is benefiting our community.
- 2 p.m. — Dive Into Bias: Engage in a thought-provoking discussion on bias and prejudice, facilitated by experts in the field.

We invite everyone to come together for a day filled with understanding, appreciation and shared experiences.”

The Mylan Park Foundation was established to advance the educational, recreational, social and economic benefits to north-central West Virginia citizens, with the purpose of improving the quality of life for residents of, and visitors to, the Greater Morgantown area.
For over 20 years, Mylan Park has grown from four baseball and softball fields into a full-service sports, recreation, wellness and events complex spanning across 400 acres.
