Edward M. Holepit II, known affectionately as Eddie, 78, passed away peacefully in Morgantown on April 8, 2024.
Born in Uniontown, Pa. on Aug. 17, 1945, he was a compassionate and dedicated family man throughout his 78 years.
Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Saundra “Sandy” Holepit and their two sons, Edward Lewis Holepit and Michael Willis Holepit, both residents of Bridgeport. His legacy continues to shine through his grandchildren, Abby, Ava Marie and Ethan, who brought immense joy into his life. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Debbie Rogers and her husband, Bill. His special cousin, Bob Holepit, also held a significant place in his heart.
Eddie’s faithful and loving canine companion, Foxey, along with his passion for family time, defined his everyday moments of happiness.
Eddie was preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Pyle, and his parents, Edward Lewis Holepit Jr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Jean Gmitter Holepit.
Best described as loving and kind, Eddie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warmth, generosity and the cherished memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
McCulla Funeral Home assisted the family with an intimate, private family service, and Mr. Holepit was laid to rest at East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
The family will receive friends at the Laurel Point United Methodist Church on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 3-6 p.m. for a time to celebrate Eddie’s life through shared memories and fellowship.
