Twila Burchinal

Twila Drew Burchinal, 94, of Point Marion, Pa., passed away peacefully Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Born June 4, 1929, in Lake Lynn, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Noel Vane and Elizabeth (Deffenbaugh) Drew.

A 1946 graduate of Georges Township High School, she was formerly employed at Colshire Manufacturing Co. in Morgantown, and in Point Marion at the Houze Glass factory, the Barn Door Restaurant, and then retired from the Point Marion Foodland, where she worked as cashier for 20 years. Over the years she attended the Point Marion Christian Church, the First Baptist Church, Fairchance and the New Geneva Baptist Church.
Twila enjoyed traveling and auto racing, having attended the Indy 500 for many years.

Surviving is her devoted and faithful daughter, Dixie Phillips and her husband Charles, of Smithfield.

Her husband, Delbert Burchinal, passed away on Oct. 9, 1977. Also deceased is a brother, Ray Drew Sr.

Friends will be received in the Point Marion Christian Church, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the noon hour of service, with Rich Schimansky and the Rev. Jim Jobes officiating. Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield. Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion.
