Kathryn Laverne Bush, 73, of Morgantown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Mon Health Medical Center.
Kathryn, aka “Nina Bush,” was born Feb. 16, 1951, a daughter of Sarah Little and the late Clifford Ross of Osage.
Kathryn was very outgoing, had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off her back, and never knew a stranger. Nina Bush was well-known for her famous fried chicken and her love for music. She could also be the life of the party.
Proceeding her in death was her father, Clifford Ross, and brother, James Boyd.
She is survived by her mother, Sarah Little; children, Michelle Lofton, Norma Lofton, Norman J. Lofton (Jennifer Thompson), An’Drena Neal (Ralph Neal), Ramona Lofton, Toni Lofton and Theodore J. Phillips, all of Morgantown; sister, Emma Finch; nieces, Deandra Burton, Rebecca Boyd and Lucy Boyd; nephew, Jason Boyd; her bonus son, Laroy Morris, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchildren, Jasmine Cyrankowski (David), Jayvonne Gummer, Jordyn Lofton, Jaeden Lofton, De’Andre Neal, Joshua Aldyn Lofton, Malisa Neal, Rakeisha Crooks, KiJana Lofton, Khayri Lofton, Kyren Phillips, Zhiare Johnson, Darius Neal, Kyara Lofton, Zhionna Lofton, Jenaya Lofton, Jaiza Lofton, Savannah Neal, Elijah Morris, Kiva Lofton, Micah Morris and Jeremiah Lofton, and a host of great-grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at Dering-Henson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at
the funeral home. Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life gathering after the service at Sabraton United Methodist Church, 1234 Richwood Ave., Morgantown.
