Elizabeth Headley

Elizabeth Ann Headley (Polansky) of Laurel Point, near Morgantown, died at home on March 30, 2024, with her family nearby.
Ann, as she was known, was born June 4, 1939, near Fairview.

Nearly 85 years of life is hard to fit into a few paragraphs. Ann did not know a stranger and was always making new friends anywhere she went. She was rarely seen without knitting needles in hand working on something … a dishcloth, slippers, a blanket, or something new. Many were fortunate enough to receive one of these prized possessions. Ann was also quick to offer a helping hand. Her generosity went above and beyond. She will also be remembered for her smile and contagious laugh and of course her famous peanut butter fudge.

Ann was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Her faith was her anchor and she relied on it to get her through many of life’s challenges, including cancer (which was almost
10 years in remission).

She is survived by her husband Jim and daughter Tanya Headley of Morgantown, sister Nancy Stover of Fairmont, sister Patsy (Fred) Jones of Blacksville and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind many dear friends far and near that she accumulated over her lifetime.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Walter Dwain and Albert Polansky and mother Martha Polansky.

No services are planned. A memorial will be held for later this year. The family asks that any donations be made to Pleasant Acres Christian Haven in Fairmont, a cause close to her heart, instead of flowers.
