Maxine I. Friend, 85, of Arthurdale, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at New Horizon Senior Living Center, in Kingwood, with family by her side. She was born in Albright, on Dec. 20, 1938, a daughter of the late Walter and Lottie (Howdershelt) Liston.
Maxine loved to work puzzles, cook, and bake. She took her job as a homemaker very seriously.
Maxine is survived by one daughter, Peggy Denkenberger (Mike) of Kingwood; one son, Paul J. Friend (Norma) of Dilliner, Pa.; grandchildren, Stacy Feather (Jordan) and their son, Jaxson and Erik Reynolds (BaiLee) and their daughter, Alexis; her twin sister, Katheline Emerson of Kingwood; and sisters, Lucy Mayne of Arthurdale, Ida Row of Morgantown, and Betty Martino of Wadestown; one brother, Bobby Liston of Wadestown, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Vincent Paul Friend, and they spent their 64th anniversary (March 26) together in heaven; several brothers, sisters, half-brothers, and half-sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff of the New Horizon Senior Living Center and Amedisys Hospice for their care and compassion to Maxine and her family during this time.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the noon time of service with Rev. Dr. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Arthurdale Cemetery.
