Judith Ann Roy, 67, of Morgantown, passed peacefully at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital on March 18, 2024.
We would like to thank the nurses and doctors who tirelessly and skillfully tried to keep her from going to her heavenly home.
Judy was the proud mother of her two daughters, Melissa Carlson and Trudy Chandler, whom loved her dearly. She also fiercely loved her grandchildren and her cats, “kits,” Batman, Mac and Zoey, whom she was adamant that their litter be cleaned out, even when she was too sick to care for herself. She enjoyed her Western movies and acting out scenes from Walker Texas Ranger (“Chuckie Baby”). She was a woman of God and would always say “Joshua 1:9 to you” before she ended a visit with her babies (daughters). We will try to be strong and courageous Mom. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her stepmother, Josephine “Jo” Roy of Hermitage, Tenn.; daughters, Melissa Carlson of Morgantown, and Trudy Chandler and her husband, Glen of Morgantown; her beloved brothers, James “Jim” P. Roy III of Asheville, N.C., Jonathan Roy of Richmond, Va., and Joseph Roy of Grafton; five grandchildren, Caleb, Gage, Jayden and Jakob Carlson, and Evelyn “Eve” Chandler; two nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Geweneth Roy and James P. “JR” Roy Jr; her grandmother, Marjorie Bland, and grandfather, James P. Roy Sr.
Memorial contributions in honor of Judy may be made to Animal Medical Center, 460 Hartman Run Road, Morgantown, to cover unpaid veterinary bills for animal lovers who experience financial distress, or contributions to WV Caring hospice (wvcaring.org and click Donate) to support this nonprofit caring for loved ones at the end of their lives.
Condolences may be sent to Trudy Chandler and/or Melissa Carlson at trudykel@gmail.com.
