Brenda Lee Johnson (nee Lease), affectionately known as Brenda to her loved ones, passed away peacefully at home from natural causes on March 20, 2024, in Sabraton, at the age of 64.
Born Feb. 20, 1960, in Star City, Brenda’s life was one of devotion to her family, her faith and her community.
Brenda’s early years in Star City laid a strong foundation for a life characterized by hard work, dedication and kindness. Her career as a billing specialist at WVU Hospitals was marked by her meticulous attention to detail and her unwavering commitment to the highest standards of patient care. Colleagues knew Brenda as a reliable and conscientious worker, someone who always went the extra mile to ensure everything was in perfect order.
Beyond her professional life, Brenda was a cherished member of the Tyrone United Methodist Church, where she found strength and solace in her faith. Her relationship with God was profound and personal, guiding her through life’s challenges and joys.
Brenda’s heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. She was a beloved sister to Beverly, Diana, Denny, Michael and Betty.
She was predeceased by her brother Howard.
As a mother and mother-in-law to Tiffany and Eddie, Brenda’s nurturing spirit was evident in every aspect of her parenting. Her granddaughters, Stevie and Rhys, brought immeasurable joy to her life, as she watched them grow and explore the world with wide-eyed wonder.
In her later years, Brenda formed a special bond with her great-niece and primary caregiver, Mariah Black. Brenda also leaves behind a tapestry of nieces and nephews, each carrying a piece of her legacy forward.
Brenda’s departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and the lives she touched. We take solace in knowing that she is at peace, and her legacy of love, faith and compassion will endure forever.
Following a private viewing for her immediate family, Brenda will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
