Harland Dunaway

Harland Ellsworth Dunaway, 94, of Reedsville, passed away on Saturday March 9, 2024, at New Horizon. He was Born on June 28, 1929, in Masontown, son of the late Lonnie Williams Dunaway and Georgia Syrena Jenkins.

Harland worked as a Coal Miner at Consolidated Coal Company up until he retired in 1993. He was an active member at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, a 4-H leader, and a volunteer for Valley Ambulance EMT. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends.

Harland is survived by one son, Mark Eric and wife Nancy Dunaway of Fellowsville; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Wolfe Dunaway of Fellowsville; five grandchildren, Christopher, Rodney, Kevin, and Rebekah Dunaway, and Sarah Dunaway and husband Mike Cerpa; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Gail Brown; two sons, William Hoy Dunaway, and Alan Vincent Dunaway; two brothers, Edward Dunaway and Richard Dunaway.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home, 13411 Veterans Memorial Highway, Reedsville, from
4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, and Thursday, March 14, from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, on Thursday, March 14, at 11 a.m., with Pastor John Brosky officiating. Interment at Mount Zion Cemetery, Marquess.
