Julia Mae Phillips, 96, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown. She was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Luther and Hattie Wearm.
Julia worked as a factory worker for Reynolds Uniform and later as a cook at Arnold Hall.
She is survived by a son Charles Dawson; grandchildren, Michael Dawson and Kristie Dawson; great-grandchildren, Dylan Dawson and Chloe Dawson; daughter, Betty Shaw; granddaughter, Angie Shaw; great-grandchildren, Raven Shaw, Summer Shaw; stepchildren, Larry, Jan, Tina, Kimmy Dawn, and Debbie; special friend, Andrew McIntyre; and her canine companion, Boo Boo; and many other extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Dawson; second husband, Edgar Phillips; and her siblings.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, until the time of the funeral service at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Private entombment will be held at Beverly Hills Chapel of Tranquility Mausoleum.
