A few dozen widows and widowers took advantage of a special event hosted by McCulla Funeral Home Saturday.
The Valentine’s Dinner for Widows and Widowers was held at the Westside Senior Center in Westover.
McCulla’s planned the event to provide dinner, socialization and support.
McCulla’s thanked other businesses — Sugar Bar, Summer Dayz Salon and Bella Fiore Floral — for helping make the night special.
“We cannot thank enough, all of the wonderful support shown for our Widow & Widowers Valentine’s Dinner,” McCulla shared on social media. “The Sugar Bar donated the delicious desserts, Summer Dayz Salon donated their services of a hair styling and manicure and Bella Fiore Floral provided beautiful roses to each person along with a floral arrangement.
The organizers also thanked Westside Seniors for allowing the use of the center, Pastor Kevin and Lesley Cain for attending and giving encouraging words, Lori Shuppe for her culinary skills and Janet Brock for her help serving.
