Robert Alan Yost (“Bob” to those who knew him well) passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 1, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on April 21, 1952, in Morgantown, Bob remained a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown.
Bob was the treasured eldest son of William and Joann (Sisler) Yost of Star City. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Kevin Yost and Keith (Debbie) Yost; his children, Erin (Jeff) Basile, Lani Lawson, Jana (William) Hess, Seth Robert Yost, Kacy (Jason) Gaither, Ivy Yost; and honorary daughter, Jillian Kelly; as well as 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Jeanne.
A proud alumnus of West Virginia University, Bob dedicated his career to the field of pharmacy. In his free time, he enjoyed construction projects, fishing, target shooting, and woodworking. Anyone who knew Bob would remember his wit, substantial intellectual aptitude, and lightning fast one-liners.
Robert has entrusted Smith Funeral and Cremation Care & SFCC Crematory of Westover/Morgantown to handle cremation services. He has requested no viewing or visitation.
